Lately, I've seen a lot of people with multi-coloured hair. I think it looks really gorgeous, although I'm not sure I could pull it off myself!
This is a little illustration I have just finished in photoshop. The more I use photoshop, the more I seem to enjoy it, and I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out.
Now seven things about me! This could potentially be quite boring!
1) I used to work in a high school as a Learning Support Assistant and it was insane. 2) I have a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies. 3) I don't actually own a tv at the moment! 4) My favourite artist is Kurt Jackson. 5) I once directed a play that was shown at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. 6) I am a geek, and like to play MMO's such as WoW! 7) My favourite book is The Secret History by Donna Tartt. xxx
I'm sure most people will be pretty familiar with Kingdom of Style! I think it was probably one of the first blogs that I was aware of, and I have always really loved it.
Queen Michelle has the most awesome collection of t-shirts I have possibly ever seen, and Queen Marie posts some lovely home-ware inspired ideas.
Just a really quick post to show you this illustration I made in Photoshop. I really loved the golden hair pieces at the Comme des Garcon show, they looked really unusual! Go and check out the other looks if you have time :) x
This is just a little illustration done in Photoshop based on one of the outfits from the Giles collection. I thought the whole show was gorgeous, and this is one of my favourite trends for Winter.
Thanks for all your lovely comments on my previous post!
Another little mini-canvas that I finished yesterday :)
This was another experiment with using a textured canvas, and I really like this technique now. I will probably pop this up on my Etsy shop at some point this week.
If anyone has any ideas for some canvases you would like to see or some cool images that I could use as inspiration then just drop me a comment :)
Last week, Tor from Fab Frocks World asked me to design the header for the relaunch of her blog/website! This is what I came up with - I hope you all like it. It was a really fun project; Tor was lovely to work with, and gave me lots of helpful input.
Just a really quick post today! Thank you for all of your lovely comments lately, I really appreciate every single one I get. This is just a simple watercolour. I've messed around a little with it in photoshop, but I might re-visit it at a later date.
I will probably put the original up on my Etsy store at some point :)
This is a mini canvas that I finished yesterday, partly inspired by Kate Moss. I primed the canvas first with a thick layer of acrylic which has given it a really textural look, and I'll probably experiment with this technique again in the future.
I sold my other little mini canvas a few days ago so I will probably be putting this one on my Etsy too! I was super pleased :)
Thank you all for your lovely responses on my Gem Fatale illustration post - I was really pleased that you liked them.
Todays blog is The Magpie Girl. Vicki has a great blog, and always wears the cutest outfits - like this candy-stripe dress! I would urge everyone to go and have a browse :)
I have a couple of other blogger illustrations in mind - so keep a look out for them, and thank you for sharing your fav blogs too!
This is a little feature that I've been thinking about starting for a while. I'm going to be doing some blogger portraits of some of my favourite blogs - I'm sure you will all be very familiar with most of them, but I still thought it would be a nice idea.
I've been reading Gem's blog for ages! She seems really friendly, and always has the most awesome nail art.
I would be interested in finding out who all your favourite bloggers are too, so let me know :)
This is just a little portrait inspired by Lindsey Wixson. I really like her - I think she looks very doll-like.
I just wanted to let you all know that I'm having a little sale over at my Etsy shop. So if you are looking to pick up a bargain, then check it out. There's a couple of original paintings on there at the moment, and they are all pretty cheap!
I will also be announcing the giveaway winner next week (probably Monday/Tuesday) so remember to look out for that :)
Hey all, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your lovely comments on my last post! It means alot that you take the time to look at my work and I really do appreciate it.
This piece is for another competition I found over at Talenthouse (I really love this site lately). This time it is to design a limited edition poster for Rod Stewart's gig in Las Vegas.
This is fairly different to what I usually do, but it's for a competition I saw on the Talenthouse website. The brief is to design a poster for the children's production of 'My First Sleeping Beauty' for the English National Ballet.
I tried to make it look as appealing to children as possible, whilst still capturing the essence of the classic story. If you want to support me, just click here.
Firstly I just want to say hello to all my new followers, and thank you for entering my giveaway!
This is a mini canvas I have been working on lately, and I will probably put it on my Etsy shop. This was done in acrylic and pen, which made a cool change from just working in watercolour. Sometimes, it feels so awkward to go back to painting with acrylic, but I feel as if I'm getting used to it now.
I don't know if you have seen this film, but I thought the concept was kind of interesting, and visually it looked awesome. This illustration is based on the 'Baby Doll' character, so I hope you all like it!
I just wanted to thank everyone that has entered my giveaway - I was so surprised to see so many entries! There's still time to enter, so I do hope you will.
Well guys, seeing as I have just gone over 100 followers, I thought I would do abit of a giveaway for you to say thank you for following and supporting my blog. I am so grateful to all of you!
I am giving away this original acrylic canvas (the size measures 30 x 23cm) which is a complete one off.
All you have to do to win is be a follower of this blog and leave me a comment below with your email address so I can contact you.
The winner will be randomly chosen, and will be announced on the 21st of August.
I just wanted to show you this new watercolour painting that I finished a couple of days ago. This was inspired by a photo that I saw on Aimee's tumblr, and just thought it was really pretty.
I have also put this one up for sale on my Etsy shop!
I saw this photo in Glamour UK and felt like painting it, it's just a shame the weather is so miserable today. Let's hope it picks up in time for the weekend.
I saw this photo on one of the Wildfox lookbook's which I'm sure some of you have seen already, and thought it would make a cool illustration! I had a good play around in photoshop with this one, I think im slowly starting to learn how to use the software properly.
